Steve
Schmidt
Steve Schmidt co-owner of
Design Circle has distinguished himself
in the special event and floral industry
for more than 20 years. The driving force
behind Design Circle, Steve brings
visionary creativity, meticulous detail
management, impressive product knowledge,
and personal approachability to every
special event.
He holds the 2004 and 2005
Triple Crown Awards from the Milwaukee
Showcase Event for tabletop presentation,
floral design, and creative booth
entries. Steve has produced events from
San Diego to Orlando. Notable productions
include the 2004 Wisconsin Governor’s
Inauguration, and the U.S. Conference of
Mayors and the Grand Opening of the
American Family Children’s
Hospital.
Corporate clients include
Cadbury Adams, Spectrum Brands, St.
Mary’s Hospital and Tri-North
Builders.

John Hosek AIFD, CAFA,
MCF
John Hosek co-owner of
Design Circle is known for his creative
style and flair. With a degree in
Supervision and Engineering Graphics,
John first began selling his floral
artistry while employed at General Motors
company.
In 1987 John opened his own
retail store and began his pursuit of
floral knowledge which has since gained
him membership in the American Institute
of Floral Designers, Canadian Academy of
Flora Artistry and Michigan Certified
Florists.
His commitment and desire
for professionalism was exemplified
during his tenure as President of the
Michigan Unit of Teleflora and
chairmanship of the Michigan Florist
Association Convention. His design
talents have place him on top in numerous
competitions as well as receiving the
prestigious Designer of the Year award at
the 1999 Michigan Floral Association
annual convention.
John's talents
have been commissioned by the United States
Ambassador to Bermuda for holiday decorations.
In 2001 John was asked to join the design team
for the Oscars and to return again in 2002 thru
2008. Also, in 2001 he was asked to present a
symposium styled program in Sydney Australia
and teach floral design at one of the
Universities. John's professionalism, passion
for floral artistry and contagious smile and
laugh have earned him respect and admiration
from peers.

Darren Ulatowski,
AIFD
Darren Ulatowski is the
owner and creative force behind House of
Flowers, LLC, a destination gift and
floral business in historic Verona,
Wisconsin.
With more than 14 years in
the floral and special events industries
and International Product Development and
Merchandising, Darren brings a unique
perspective to the creation of beautiful
and memorable events. He is a much sought
after consultant for event décor, home
interior renovation, gift buying, and
personal signature designs.
His wedding work
has been featured in In Style magazine and he
is a regional presenter to garden clubs, civic
organizations, and floral professional
symposia.

Sally Rossmiller,
AIFD
Sally Rossmiller, a member
of the prestigious American Institute of
Floral Designers (AIFD) since 1995,
brings 22 years of experience in the
floral industry to Design Circle. Sally
is nationally recognized as a floral
educator and stage designer.
Her fluid and lyrical
design style has inspired countless
students and won numerous awards. With a
commanding depth of knowledge about the
floral industry, product procurement,
design history, and color trends, Sally
is a go-to person for regional
professional florists.
She is a
frequently sought lecturer and presenter for
the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Florists
Association, American Institute of Floral
Designers, college horticulture programs, local
garden clubs, and school programs.
